The 2020 Hyundai Elantra: Convenience, Technology, and Great Looks
June 26 2019, Hyundai of Regina
The recently redesigned Elantra is part of Hyundai’s revitalization effort across model lines. With a sportier look and the addition of new technologies, Hyundai has succeeded in creating a unique vehicle. Four trims comprise the model line: Essential, Preferred, Luxury, and Ultimate.
The 2020 Elantra Has a New Exterior and Standard Equipment
The front end, fenders, headlights, hood, and rear facilitate Hyundai’s new focus on advanced design. Previous Elantra owners or shoppers should really give this version a look-over.
All trims feature projection headlights, a centre high mount stop lamp, power heated side mirrors, all-season tires, and body-colour front and rear bumpers. The Preferred trim adds 16” aluminum wheels, LED daytime running lights, auto headlights, LED side mirror turn signal repeaters, and more. The Luxury and Ultimate trims have the above features and upgrade to a power sunroof, 17” alloy wheels, and chrome window-belt moulding and door handles. Features reserved for the Luxury model include LED headlights and taillights.
Power Meets Efficiency in the 2020 Hyundai Elantra
Under the hood, the entire model line is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that generates a solid 147 horsepower with 132 lb-ft of torque. The Essential trim has a standard six-speed manual transmission, whereas the remaining models have a fuel-efficient Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) that has every gear ratio possible within a particular range, promoting better performance.
The fuel economy of the Elantra rivals that of its competition. Trims with the IVT transmission consume a low 7.8/5.6 l/100 km (city/highway), while the manual transmission manages a respectable 9.1/6.3. Either way, all trims will help you save at the pump.
The refined interior includes a collection of new features that enhance comfort, convenience, and safety. All models have heated front seats, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, a rearview camera with dynamic guidelines, iPod/USB/auxiliary connectivity, a Bluetooth hands-free system, TFT display, and more.
The Preferred trim moves up to a 7.0” touchscreen display with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel, leather-wrapped shift knob, and more. The Luxury and Ultimate models feature an 8.0” touchscreen display, premium seating surfaces, upgraded audio systems with XM, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, and more.
